THE CUT
FIX™

Tryouts create two different jobs at the same time: decide who fits the roster and explain that decision with enough clarity that the player can move forward. The Cut Fix gives coaches a consistent structure for scoring, deciding and communicating.

How it works

SCORE. DECIDE.
SAVE.

The tool organizes the evidence and the language. The actual roster decision stays with the coach or organization.

01 · SCORE

Use the same frame

Evaluate players across the same criteria so one memorable moment does not quietly become the whole tryout.

02 · DECIDE

Choose the roster path

Make the Team, Role / Time, Bubble or Didn't Make It—the coach makes the call.

03 · SAVE

Keep feedback attached

Save each evaluation, then export the roster when tryouts are finished.

Clear feedback is part of the decision

Tryout feedback gets difficult when a coach has dozens of players in mind and every conversation happens after the decision is already emotionally loaded. Vague language can feel safer in the moment—“keep working,” “it was really close,” “we just went another direction”—but it often leaves a player with nothing useful to act on.

The Cut Fix is designed to preserve the coach's judgment while giving that judgment a consistent structure. Scores do not automatically pick the roster. They give the coach a record. The decision field captures the actual choice. The feedback layer helps turn that choice into specific language a player or family can understand.

The Cut Fix does not decide who makes the team. It helps the coach document and explain the decision they made.

Privacy model

The current standalone tool stores evaluation data in the browser unless the coach chooses to copy, email, print or export it. It does not require player accounts.
