The Fixes deliberately separates the teacher-facing website from the classroom-facing tools. Teacher pages can use Google Analytics and subtle advertising, with Google consent controls applied where required. Classroom/run pages are built without analytics, advertising, Stripe or marketplace selling.
Overview
The Fixes provides teacher-facing product information and classroom-ready digital tools. We intentionally minimize data collection and keep the commercial layer away from the classroom experience.
Analytics
On teacher-facing pages, The Fixes uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and Fixes are useful and to measure actions such as exploring a product, opening a classroom tool, downloading a teacher resource, or clicking Pay What It Was Worth.
For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the published Google consent message is connected to Google consent mode for analytics. Classroom/run pages do not contain Google Analytics. This privacy page itself does not load Analytics or AdSense tags.
Classroom / run pages
Some tools may use browser-local storage for settings, progress or preferences. That storage remains in the browser unless a specific tool clearly states otherwise.
Children & classroom use
The Fixes is designed for educators and does not require student accounts. The teacher-facing website is intended for educators and other adults. Student-facing classroom/run pages are kept separate from the advertising and analytics layer.
Classroom/run pages do not load Google AdSense or Google Analytics, and The Fixes does not use activity on those classroom/run pages to select or target personalized advertising to children. Google advertising is not placed on those routes. Because the legal definition of a child varies by jurisdiction, The Fixes applies this classroom boundary without relying on a single age threshold.
Advertising
The website uses subtle manual advertising positions on teacher-facing pages only: the homepage, teacher category hubs, product-information pages, the Library and Field Notes editorial pages. Find a Fix and the teacher-facing N.O.W. utility are intentionally kept ad-free in this release. Classroom/run pages remain ad-free.
The Fixes uses Google AdSense and published Google Privacy & messaging controls. For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google's certified CMP gathers the choices used for advertising and analytics consent mode. For visitors covered by supported U.S. state privacy laws, Google's U.S. state privacy message provides applicable opt-out controls for the sale or sharing of personal information. Auto Ads are not used.
Third-Party Advertising, Cookies & Identifiers
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Where enabled through Google AdSense, other third-party vendors or ad networks may also participate in ad serving on teacher-facing pages.
As part of ad serving and measurement on teacher-facing pages, third parties may place or read cookies in a visitor's browser and may use technologies or information such as cookies and browser storage, web beacons, IP addresses, browser identifiers, device identifiers or characteristics, and similar identifiers. These technologies may be used to request, deliver, limit the frequency of, measure, and report advertising.
Users may manage or opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Users may also use AboutAds / WebChoices to manage interest-based advertising choices for participating companies. Visitors in Europe may also use Your Online Choices.

Voluntary payments
If you choose Pay What It Was Worth, you leave The Fixes and complete payment through Stripe. Stripe processes the payment information. The Fixes site does not receive or store your full card number.
Cookies & browser storage
Google Analytics and Google AdSense may use cookies or other storage according to the visitor's location and consent choices. Classroom tools may separately use browser-local storage for their own settings, progress or saved state; that classroom storage stays in the browser unless a tool clearly states otherwise.

On eligible teacher-facing pages, Google provides privacy and cookie controls that allow visitors to review or change their choices. The Fixes keeps this policy page free of consent-dependent Google tags so the policy remains accessible without loading advertising or analytics scripts.
