Why this exists

The problem is real.
So is the Fix.

Second Chance keeps eliminated players connected to the outcome so participation does not collapse after the first mistake or loss.

THE PROBLEM

You have time to fill, but not time to invent a game.

Enter student names, choose a consequence style, and run silent ball with visible player status and built-in routes back into the game.

THE FIX

Let the screen handle the mechanics.

Teacher use guide

Build the redo into the game before anyone needs it.

Second Chance Fix is designed around a simple classroom truth: mistakes are easier to handle when the restart rule is already part of the activity. Students know that a miss does not end the experience; it changes what happens next.

Explain the redo first

Students should know exactly how a second chance is earned or used before the first mistake happens.

Keep the reset brief

The redo should return students to the task quickly. Long penalty sequences make the mistake more important than the learning.

Use it for practice, not humiliation

A second chance is useful when it lowers risk and encourages another attempt. It should not become a public spotlight on the student who missed.

Notice whether attempts improve

If the same error repeats, pause the game and teach the missing idea. More chances do not replace instruction.
